Job Description
These positions provide safety support and leadership to the Oil & Gas industry production units and related contractors.
The position responsibilities include the following: • Advise the production units on Health & Safety issues • Provide Health & Safety leadership to Company and contractors to improve safety performance and attain ‘zero injury workplace’ at the product unit facilities. • Coordinate Emergency Response and Incident Investigation program capabilities related to production activities • Conduct safety training and field safety auditing • Identify and eliminate process hazards • Conduct incident investigations and associated root cause analyses (i.e. Taproot) • Local subject matter expert for employee and contractor safety processes (OSHA/CAL-OSHA, etc.) • Integrate Behavior Based Safety (BBS), perform audits and develop action plans to mitigate risk
The successful candidate will bring the following critical skills and knowledge: • Demonstrable experience in use of Taproot for incident investigations • Demonstrable experience in successful implementation of BBS programs • Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. ability to communicate effectively at various levels of the organization, effectively manage change and conflict) • Demonstrable experience in working in a process team environment with process teams, con
tractor workforce, and operations staff at all levels • Leadership skills (e.g. team leadership, coaching, influencing, problem solving, conflict resolution) • Knowledge of Oil & Gas field operations, field construction practices, etc. • Continuous Improvement focus • Strong passion for learning & improving
Requirements: • BS Degree in Safety, Safety Engineering, or similar degree (MUST HAVE) • Previous health and safety work experience in the oil & gas arena (will consider refining or petrochemical experience also) • Ten (10) plus years Health & Safety experience in an Oil & Gas field operations setting • ASP/CSP/CIH certification preferred
