The Department of Community Health offers the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) professional degree with concentrations in Behavioral Science and Health Education, Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness, Biostatistics, Environmental and Occupational Health, and Epidemiology.


The Professional Option-Practice concentration is available for experienced health professionals who wish to work in public health practice. Joint concentrations are offered in Biostatistics/Epidemiology, Environmental Health/Epidemiology, and Behavioral Science/Epidemiology. The Department of Health Management and Policy offers the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) with a concentration in Health Policy. 


Environmental and occupational health focuses on the health consequences of environmental toxins; how they can be identified in the work place and community, how their risk to human health can be determined and how this risk can be managed to minimize its impact. Students with an MPH in environmental and occupational Health are in demand worldwide. Students who earn this degree are trained in toxic agent control, industrial hygiene and general environmental health.
