The College of Staten Island Department of Engineering Science and Physics is the sole entity for engineering education within the City University of New York which offers a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science degree. It is also the sole entity for engineering education within the borough of Staten Island that offers a degree of any kind in engineering.
The program is designed to provide broad interdisciplinary training in those areas of the biological, engineering, physical, chemical, and social sciences that are important in solving environmental problems.
Graduates are prepared for careers in both governmental agencies and private companies working on such problems as pollution control, environmental impact, and urban planning, and for careers in environmental education.
Students can use this degree to prepare for a PhD. The College has extensive modern laboratories and computer facilities.
